If reading the newspapers, watching the news, listening to the radio or indulging in any other media form causes you to feel stressful then don’t do it. Take a step back and take a break. Pull out Tool #4 MEDIA - SWITCH IT OFF!
This doesn’t mean you are ignoring current affairs or that you don’t care what’s going on in the world, it means you are doing something to look after your own well-being and possibly those around you.
Read, watch, listen and indulge in the things that make you feel good! That will boost your immunity not drain it!
As I write in My Wellness Toolbox it’s not always easy to switch off as we are surrounded by the media, but switch off what you can control and give yourself a break from it. You matter!
Note: When I hit rock bottom 15 years ago the 1st thing my GP prescribed was talking therapy, the 2nd thing he prescribed was “switch all media off”!
